“Peace-cook” Jalil

For more than 25 years the former lecturer of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Mathematics has been cooking on a voluntary basis on birthday celebrations and wedding parties, for municipal and school celebrations, for Catholic and Protestant Church Congresses, such as the first Ecumenical Church Congress in Berlin in 2003.

The more participants, the higher the proceeds, which benefits the peace projects.

Thanks to his financial support, a community centre for the Christian parish in Ramle/Israel could be completed in the meantime as well as a high school for about 650 Christian and Muslim students.

Already in 2001, he was awarded the “Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany” for his commitment to understanding and tolerance between peoples and religions.
