Teaching Aids for Hebron
In 1994 the electronics lab at the vocational training institute in Michaelshoven (nr. Cologne) was refurbished. At the time I was
working there as a lecturer and I was able to convince the director to donate the well-maintained, older equipment rather than discard it. I contacted the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, who got me in
touch with the College for Electrical Engineering and Electronics in Hebron. This school was newly founded and had no equipment whatsoever. They were very interested in what I could offer.
I ended up packing this fairly comprehensive set of lab gear (worth about DM 800000 at the time) in a 20 cbm container and had it shipped
to Hebron. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development bore half of the transport costs.
